The End of the Peer Pier Group first started to meet during the 2020 lockdown.

We are a group of four, who meet online every two months. Our members are based in Cambridgeshire and work with a variety of different modalities, including counselling & psychotherapy, coaching, EMDR, and clinical psychology.

During our meetings we informally discuss all aspects of supervision, client work, CPD, as well as the various projects we each independently work on.

Julia Berrington

My second career as an integrative therapist and supervisor began after I completed an MSc. in Counselling Psychology at Keele University School of Psychology.

From a humanistic beginning, I enjoy working with narrative, solution focus, CBT & EMDR and humour where possible. Busy for me is best.

Jim Holloway

I started counselling in 1995 as a volunteer with young people. After 10 years working for counselling charities in Cambridge, I set up an independent practice offering generic counselling for adults and specialising in anger management. It’s kept me very busy.

I ran ‘Moving Through Midlife’ groups for men for many years. Qualified as a supervisor in 2009. From 2012-18 I was a partner in Cambridge Supervision Training (am now an
Associate) and currently do a lot of supervision with a wonderful diversity of practitioners.

I co-authored ‘Practical Supervision’ (JKP 2014) with CST founders Penny Henderson and Anthea Millar, and for many years wrote the supervision column in BACP’s ‘Private Practice
Journal’.

Main interests: keeping sane, keeping crazy, keeping married, not over-working, not getting cynical, finding joy and soul in the work and with colleagues.

Glenn Nicholls

I’ve been a psychotherapist since 1998 and have a private practice at home in Cambridge and in London. I’m also a supervisor, trainer, executive coach, organisation development consultant and writer.

I currently lead a multi-modality supervision training in Central London and have done so since 2011. Participants include various mental health workers, therapists, social workers, coaches and other change facilitators. My main interest is in the various personal shifts required in becoming a supervisor.

I initially trained as an integrative psychotherapist at the Whittington Hospital NHS Trust in London, however more recently I’ve begun to describe my work as Nietzschean (influenced by my reading of Friedrich Nietzsche) I’m interested in being part of an ISN group to further explore the necessary challenge and support peer supervision requires.

Christine Schneider

I have been in practice as a clinical psychologist, counsellor and psychotherapist since 2005.

Back in 2011, long before the world had ever heard of Covid, I trained in online counselling and supervision, including online group supervision. I have always been very passionate about working online, and I include the use of creative methods, sand trays and EMDR into my online work.

Outside of work, I am always chasing the next creative project, be that writing, creating, or performing arts. I present the Friday Morning Show on Cambridge Radio every week between 9:30 and 12.00 and Metal Therapy on Ely Radio Sundays at 7pm.
